Introduction to Life Skills

It’s a fact that with tight budgets and a myriad of other staff constraints, schools are unable to provide the quality PSHE courses they once did. We’re here to bridge the gap and provide that much needed education that we all know fundamentally prepares our children for life in the real world.

After all, what use are our qualifications if we know nothing about being a law-abiding citizen, financial management, health care, insurance and travelling?

It can be a very cruel and unforgiving world out there. Children are no longer brought up like they used to be. The power of social media that effectively kills what it promotes, socialising, means that more children than ever before, are leaving home without the necessary skill sets that would allow them to tackle the challenges of everyday life. They’re simply not street wise anymore.

We’re not taught how to book a flight or train, whether or not it’s better to book a package holiday deal or hotels and flights separately, what type of holiday, car, home or pet insurance and how to arrange cover, what a mortgage is and which one might be the best. The list literally goes on and on. Are our children fully aware of the consequences of attending that party, having one indiscretion, and it potentially leading to a criminal record? For the high-flyers amongst our children, this could have devastating consequences for their careers and ultimately, their lives one day.

As parents we do our best to protect, nurture and raise our children to be the best they can be. Much of what we offer in our PSHE courses you may feel you already cover at home, but sometimes it can serve as positive reinforcement to hear it from a third party and speak to those in person who have suffered as a result of simply not knowing anything about life issues that most adults would simply take for granted.

Our courses tackle these issues head on and provide your children with the skill sets and knowledge they need to hopefully lead a healthy, wealthy and crime free life. The way it should be. It’s simply what we’re all entitled to. Becoming street wise and possessing these all-important life skills, helps children in the transition to adulthood and making a success of their lives from the start.
