Teenagers want independence. For many nothing symbolises independence more than obtaining their driving licence. It is one of the clear modern day rites of passage to adulthood. We can all still remember the feeling of elation at being able to drive yourself to and from places without a parent in the car.
The only thing better than being able to drive yourself as a teenager, is being able to drive around with your friends. You don’t need to have a destination necessarily, just the freedom of the open road and the company of your good friends is enough. However for many the joy of independence and the implicit hope of adulthood is cut tragically short. While most of us live to tell of lucky escapes in our early days of motorised independence, many don’t.
Motor vehicle accidents continue to cost the lives of a disproportionate number of young people every year. Our course aims to highlight the risk factors involved with driving cars and riding motorcycles. It also examines a number of case studies that will help your child understand these complex issues and make more informed decisions whilst out on the road. We believe being a safe driver is all about making informed choices and learning from the mistakes of others. Let us help your child do just that and either stay or become a safe and competent driver with years of enjoyable mortoring ahead of them.
Which age group?
Due to the content of the case studies, we recommend this course for children aged 14 or over and adults. If you feel this course would be suitable and your child is younger, please contact us to discuss.
One should contribute and debate the points raised in the case studies throughout the day in order to get the most from this course. This is not an assessed course and participants will receive a certificate upon completion of it.
